Detailed Information
Thyroid cysts can develop as a result of trauma or thyroid tissue ageing. Thyroid cysts are typically found by chance during routine physical examinations or testing, just like the majority of thyroid nodules. In most cases, patients have no symptoms, but they occasionally later experience pain or other symptoms. This is more typical in cases where thyroid cysts are big or the result of thyroid gland bleeding or haemorrhage. Hoarseness, speech changes, and even breathing difficulties all be complications of more severe and quick occurrences of bleeding. Whenever thyroid nodules contain fluid, they are referred to as “cystic” or “thyroid cysts.” Thyroid cysts make about 15–25% of all thyroid nodules.
