I had a so called impacted wisdom tooth that two dentists tried to extract in the past few years without success (and much post procedure pain) that when Dr. Carmen told me she had to take care of it, I was slightly skeptical. Well, this morning she handled the extraction in few minutes with without any trouble — exactly as she said she would. A few hours past the extraction, I am on Motrin only and no pain. We are very fortunate for having such great professionals in our community. I can’t recommend Dr. Carmen enough – always as my regular dentist and now for ‘thorny’ issues.

I have been a patient at Astoria Dental for over 15 years, along with my son. We love the doctors and the staff, many of whom have worked there for just as long. It’s not one of those big, fancy doctor’s offices, but you’ll find it’s clean, welcoming, and keeps current with modern technology. Intraoral Camera

Tomographic Imaging and Dental Implants
When determining whether a patient is a good candidate for dental implants, our dentists also use a high-tech instrument called a tomograph to provide superior analysis of patients’ gums and bone structure. The tomograph produces an image similar to that of a CT scan, but the patient does not have to endure the claustrophobic experience of undergoing a CT scan. This process is important in helping our dentists determine whether a patient has sufficient bone thickness to support a dental implant.
