Designed to provide your lawn with premium-grade fertilizer products on a six-round cycle. This cycle ensures that the lawn fertilizing treatments greatly enhance the look and health of your yard. By choosing our Lawn Fertilization Plan, you can enjoy a lush, thick, healthy green lawn. We use various blends to ensure that the specific needs of your lawn are met. Our blends include Pre-emergent, which helps stop crabgrass and early-season weeds, Grub Control, which helps to stop the white grub cycle (mostly Japanese Beetles), Root Enhancer, which establishes new seeds and repairs summer drought, and Winter, which is a specific slow-release blend for the winter season that provides benefits during the next spring.
It’s important to know that Nitrogen (N) is a crucial nutrient component of lawn fertilizing, and your grass requires about 4lbs of it in a year. However, grass can only absorb a certain amount of N during a given period. Applying more than 0.66lbs of N per treatment may result in wastage of the product. Additionally, it could cause your grass to grow tall and fast, which is not healthy.
Moles feed on white grubs but they also eat other insects, earthworms, and other food they can find in the soil. While using grub control fertilizer can reduce the potential food sources for moles in your lawn, it is important to note that a grub control lawn treatment only disrupts the white grub cycle, which can eventually turn into Japanese Beetles.
Our lawn treatment fertilizers are slow-release granular products that break down naturally with moisture, such as rain or morning dew. Although it is recommended to water the fertilizer product for at least 20 minutes to ensure that any additives, such as pre-emergent or grub control, are released, it is not necessary. Over time, your fertilizer will work its nutrients into the soil.
If a soil issue is suspected it is recommended to get a soil sample analysis to determine the exact issue. Local companies can provide these tests for as low as $30-40. With the information provided we can tailor specific fertilizer blends outside of our normal blends to help make up for any deficiencies.
According to Iowa law, any herbicide (such as weed control treatments) applied to your lawn must be marked with flags. These flags can be removed after 24 hours and discarded. However, if you wish to keep them, you can return them to us for future use. Please note that you don’t need to be present at home during the lawn treatment process; we will send you an email after we complete our service report to notify you of the time of application, the chemicals we used, and instructions for post-treatment care.
